Medical Mobile Clinics of DARY and its Partners are services that is not far away. Saving Mahmoud's life is a success story for Clinic No. 7

2020/10/17
At the farthest point in Nineveh in northern Iraq and West Anbar, it may not seem surprising to see a gathering of people of both sexes and of different ages, including children, around a large white Vehicle on a hot summer or cold winter day, so perhaps there is something that might be sold or distributed. But when you get closer to the Vehicle, you find that it is a mobile clinic bearing the logo of a humanitarian organization named "DARY" and its international funding partners, most notably the World Health Organization (WHO). Then it makes sure that it provides free health services to vulnerable populations in hard access or conflict-affected areas, as well as those who are not has the capability to have it for a reason and returnees from hard displacement round. Mobile clinics of DARY begins work every morning and throughout the week and according to the geography assigned for each one of them to provide healthcare services to the community in both governorates. According to "DARY and WHO" statistics, the number of beneficiaries of one mobile clinic is estimated between (100-150) beneficiary daily, which is equivalent to (2000-2500) beneficiary every month are provided with various free healthcare services. On Sunday, 08/30/2020, the mobile clinic No. (7) funded by (IHF) visited Al-Islah Al-ziraee quarter at west Mosul with all its staff, headed by Dr. Asma Nizar Al-Mawla, (27) years old, to reach the place designated for receiving patients, At 10:00 am, "Mahmoud Mayouf" (65) years old, from the same area, who lives with great difficulty breathing, arrived complaining from fatigue and stress and he was accompanied by his son, "Abdul Mohsen Mahmoud" (32) Years old. Dr. Asmaa said: “The clinic staff rushed to help the man and move him inside, and at that time she began to examine him clinically from a sitting position, to reveal after the diagnosis the suspected of (pulmonary edema) as a result of advanced heart failure and decided to give the patient oxygen, in addition to the medication (Lasix ampoule- diuretic) by (2) It is available in the clinic& 39;s pharmacy while continuing to measure blood pressure periodically. Dr. Asmaa added: The patient stayed in the clinic for about one and a half hour, during which time the clinic team was providing medical and psychological support to the patient until he became in a good condition, enabling him to reach the secondary health services and receive more specialized treatment for his illness. As for Abdel Mohsen, patient& 39;s son, he says: “My father and the rest of the family were strongly opposed to going to a hospital for fear of infection with the presence of  Corona virus, and adding,“ We almost lost hope of obtaining a health service in another place that would be safer until we got advise by the people of the region to go to the Medical mobile clinic to located near to us, while "Mahmoud" says after his health condition improved, "I was really amazed by the services that were quickly provided to me by the clinic team, as well as diagnosis and treatment, and I did not expect that the clinic could provide such a distinct and perfect health service." Mahmoud stood up on his feet to return safely to his home and family to write a new success story with the heroes of Clinic No. (7) staff although the limited resources available at the clinic, but the doctor was able to diagnose the case and treat him until stabilization. DARY and its international partners changed an equation that prevailed in the idea that the patient rushes to the hospital or private clinics if he feels ill, and he may wait many hours To obtain health services, and that after running mobile clinics to facilitate free services for individuals in areas far from cities that lack health institutions. DARY and UNICEF are defeating severe malnutrition. Baby Noor is recovering.

DARY and UNICEF are defeating severe malnutrition. Baby Noor is recovering.

2020/10/14
When hunger attacks a place, tragedy begins and the spectre of death hangs on each side, and the phase of death and brutality begins mercilessly, and it is even harsher, especially if the victim is a baby girl living under the weight of displacement camps where the humanitarian situation is bitter.    Nour Abdullah Khader, a seven-month-old baby girl, is one of those victims, as she lives with her widowed mother in al-Salamiyah camp for displaced people in Nineveh governorate in northern Iraq, and hunger and its complications began to severely kill her body and organs when she was discovered by the UNICEF-funded DarY Nutrition and Awareness Program survey team. "During the daily surveys of the second salamiyah camps for displaced persons, we found Noor with her mother& 39;s stone in the door of the numbered tent (BB14-15) and the despair was evident on her features, as she imagined that she would lose her daughter, where the high fever, diarrhoea, dehydration and anorexia were all not a good symptom," said Ibtisam Yahia, one of the mobile team members. "The baby& 39;s shape is like a skin on a bone, pushed me to measure the arm," she said. The mother of the infant, Noor, was quick to review the center for the first time on (14-6-2020), to carry out the medical team& 39;s preliminary examination of the infant, and found that she was very weak, weighing almost 7.2 kilograms, and the measure of the arm of the hand indicates (11.1), indicating that she is severely malnourished, and that she must undergo an ongoing program and follow-up according to the diagnosis of nutritionists "Ali Bassem" and "Ayman Mohammed Nutritional Medical Doctor". "We have subjected the infant to a special dietary and therapeutic program in order to restore her normal condition and recover from her illness, where we urged the mother to intensify her regular visits to the center in order to monitor the condition of the infant as well as give her the necessary treatments, supplements and vitamins.  "In the second review on (5-7-2020), the infant weighed (8.6) kilograms and measured the arm of the hand (12.4) centimeters, to enter his condition better than the previous one, and in the third review on (11-8-2020) the weight of the child 9.8 kg and MUAC measurement (12.5), and in the fourth review dated (13-9-2020) it weighed (10kg) and the measure MUAC is (13) CM and thus made a full recovery from severe malnutrition that she suffered from to normal. The child "Noor" then returned to life and the despair of "Mother of Nour" turned to optimism for a better future through the efforts of the organizations (Dary and UNICEF), who were quick to intervene in the treatment of acute and moderate malnutrition in the camps of displaced persons (Hammam al-Alil, Al-Ja& 39;ada and Salamiya) by using mobile teams to reach these malnourished children and then turn them into medical centers dedicated to the necessary treatment and regular follow-up.
